April fools!

At work today, I was sitting in my cube minding my own business when I hear some crazy lady across the office scream and moan. It was actually kind of weird. Then, some sort of blame game ensued amongst that corner of the office and they were trying to figure out who did “it.” I wasn’t sure what “it” was, but about ten minutes later the crazy lady catty-corner to me started screaming and the person right next to me told her it was the person that sits across from me (I’m trying not to use names). So, I finally got off of my can to see what the big deal was. Apparently, this lady had placed a prosthetic leg under their desks so just the shoe part was sticking out and I guess this made it look like someone was laying under their desks. I’m not sure what’s so scary about that, but I guess it would be a little surprising. I asked the lady where she got it because it was like a real, good prosthetic, not something you buy at a gag store or whatever, but she didn’t answer me, which makes me very curious indeed. Anyway, at least someone’s in the spirit?
After work, I headed to the bus because I had to go to class. It was so freakin’ windy downtown that I was being pushed forward, my hood wouldn’t stay down and my hair was being tangled up in ratty knots. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate windy weather? More than any other weather, windy is by far the worst, especially when you just did your hair and put on fancy goobery lip gloss and then your hair ends up sticking to your lips and you look like one of those little kids that likes to chew on their hair until it’s a nasty old lump. I hate that. Plus, wind makes it colder and I hate when it’s cold to begin with. Anyway, that’s my grumpy rant for the day. Wind… I hate you.
Okay and one last random thought… when I was on campus heading to class, I saw a bunch of youngins playing “the beach volleyball” and it struck me that next year some of the freshman from OSU will be students that I taught during student teaching. I am feeling quite elderly.

Windy weather is my nemesis! It’s really bad here in Houston because it’s just so flat.
I feel your pain.
