My Lists

16 Nov

I’ve decided that I should stop making lists for two reasons:
1) I feel bad when I don’t get everything on the list done.
2) I put extra things on the list and then stress out about them (even though I could just not do them).

I realize that I just made a list about not making lists and there’s irony in that, but I worked all weekend long and I didn’t quite get done what I “needed” to get done. I really wish I could stop making lists, but I have a neurotic attachment. I don’t feel like anything gets done until I cross it off the list. Do any type B’s have suggestions?

Aside from not getting things done, we did have fun last night. Dan got UFC 9,992 on pay per view and Matt’s family came over to hang out and watch. First, we had Adriatico’s pizza, then we played a good game of Scattergories, then we watched grown men beat each other up. I was really into this one, but Randy “The Natural” Couture lost and we were all sad. So, to cheer us up, we got up early the next morning and had a delicious breakfast at Northstar.

This is a really bad picture. I cut off Mr. Murphy, but you can see Greg, Matt, Megan and Tess on the one side and Dan and part of Ben’s head on the other side (Erin is actually sitting between them). Maybe it was a little too early. Oooh, look at those pancakes!

re: lists, sometimes i put things i’ve already done that day on the list just so i can cross them off. it doesn’t help more things get finished necessarily, but it helps me with my feeling of accomplishment that is tied to looking at things crossed off of a to-do list.
