Downtown Portland and More
2 Sep
Yesterday, after breakfast, I went for a run in a nearby park. The park was so nice and the trees are HUGE! I hate running with my phone, so I don’t have pictures, but maybe I’ll get some tomorrow. After we showered, we headed down to downtown Portland. Here’s a picture of the city as we were about to cross the bridge over the Wilamette River.
Once we got downtown, we saw this:
It’s an electric car plugged into a charger. Neato!
We found a coffee shop and sat around and chatted for awhile. We even saw some protestors (or something) carrying signs about amnesty for migrants. Then, we went to a mall because Beth needed jeans. She found some and we also found chocolates! They were all fancy and I got one shaped like an ice cream cone with peanut butter inside. Beth says they are delicious, but I am saving them for a special occasion (like tonight). I also thought it was hilarious that they had these special ones.
Those are donkeys on the left and elephants on the right. Get it? Hehe!
When we got home from downtown, we were going to go to a party at Beth’s friends house, so we made a casserole to take with us. Everyone liked it. The party was with people from her AmeriCorps team and they were all really nice. We played this really fun game called Bananagrams and there was someone from Michigan there, so we also played euchre! One of Beth’s friends went to Berklee College of Music and was playing trumpet along with a friend. They were really good. Here’s a picture.
Today, we are going on a hike, more on that later ronight or tomorrow.
