that’s our new place! we’re in the middle somewhere. i had my second class today. this one was called “women, technology and education.” my advisor teaches it and it sounds like it is going to be interesting. no crazy man chased me on the way to class today too, so that was a bonus.
after class, dan and i walked down to the north market again for lunch. it’s this really great place with multiple vendors and loads of different types of food to try and it’s just a short walk from our place. dan got pizza and i got a mediterranean combo with falafel, hummus, baba gannouj (sp?) and tabouli. it was awesome, but i had heartburn later. oooh and on the way out of the door i got a giant snickerdoodle. it was soft and delicious.
after lunch, we had to pay our first month’s rent and write down anything that was wrong with the apartment. so, we puttered around and wrote down any stains, scuffs or holes that we found. it wasn’t too bad, but in case you hadn’t heard, the rental place allowed me to stash some clothes in a closet while we were on vacation (so i would have some clean things to wear to class) and when we got there it was gone. so, when i went to turn in the rent check and get our mail key, the lady informed me that the painters probably threw it away. i was pretty ticked, but when i got to the mailbox and expected only to have junk mail from the former tenant, there were 5 cards wishing us a happy anniversary (it’s our first today). that was a nice surprise.
i decided i would get a little homework done and then go check out osu’s nice new rec center. so, i went to our bedroom and got cozy reading “technopoly.” while i was in there, dan came in and laid down. this was at 2:47pm mind you, and dan “works from home.” i tried my best to get a picture, but he wouldn’t let me. it would have been a really funny one too, so i apologize.
tonight for dinner we went out to celebrate our anniversary. we already did in duck, but why not twice? especially when you have no pots and pans to cook with. we walked to another awesome place called basi italia. it is tucked away in a nearby residential area called victorian village. it is beautiful and quaint and the food was delicious! if anyone wants to come visit, i wouldn’t mind going there again. on the way home we took a different route and found goodale park, a cute little park surrounded by expensive old homes. i already have planned a run there in my head. on our way home, we also just had to go back to jeni’s. i know, two nights in a row, but we were celebrating again so it was okay. this time i got only two scoops (queen city cayenne and backyard mint) and dan got two too (queen city cayenne (represent!) and pistachio and honey). it was awesome again. i feel so lucky right now. one year of marriage and a new adventure.
this is the position i am in right now, as i type. i’m in my new osu pajama pants (courtesy of julie, katie and marky) and am typing to you all in my bare living room. notice what the “essentials” are in our home.
